The University of the Sunshine Coast has been named Queensland's top public university for Overall Educational Experience for undergraduate students for the fifth consecutive year, while also achieving second nationally. 

Results released today from the 2025 Student Experience Survey – an Australian Government-funded exercise involving more than 324,000 students across the nation – placed UniSC first in Queensland in five out of six categories as well as securing three top-two national rankings for undergraduates. 

Alongside its top ranking for Overall Educational Experience, UniSC ranked top in Queensland for Teaching Quality and Engagement, Skills Development, Student Support and Services, and Learning Resources. 

On top of performing exceptionally in comparison to other Queensland institutions, UniSC also rated strongly Australia-wide. 

It ranked second nationally for undergraduates in Overall Educational Experience, Student Support and Services, and Learning Resources. 

UniSC Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Helen Bartlett said these outcomes underscored UniSC’s dedication to delivering an enriching student experience across all campuses, including the Sunshine Coast, Moreton Bay and Fraser Coast. 

"We're proud to expand regional access to higher education for everyone, including school leavers, career changers, and lifelong learners,” Profrssor Bartlett said. 

"The results reflect the success of our targeted support programs, which champion equitable access to a university education. 

"This includes first in family students, First Nations students, people living with disability, those from non-English speaking or disadvantaged backgrounds and regional or remote communities. 

"I am also proud of the dedicated and skilled teachers we have at UniSC who are making a real difference to students’ lives. To be ranked number one for Teaching Quality and Engagement is testament to their commitment, expertise and genuine care for student success.

Results were accumulated and published by the Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT), funded by the national Department of Education. 

Students from 153 higher education institutions were surveyed. 

Across the tertiary education sector, 77.8 per cent of all students surveyed noted a positive experience in their place of education, the best rating since the pandemic.
