Clinical training in a contemporary treatment for Reconsolidation Therapy™.
Thompson Institute Director Professor Alain Brunet will share his innovative method for treating patients with trauma- and stressor-related disorders, including PTSD.
About Reconsolidation Therapy
Reconsolidation Therapy™ involves recalling traumatic memories with the support of a certified therapist while under the influence of a memory reconsolidation-blocking medication, such as low-dose oral propranolol. It is a simple, fast, and effective trauma treatment based on the latest discoveries in neuroscience and memory reconsolidation.
It is not necessary to hold prescription privileges to learn and practise Reconsolidation Therapy, nor is it necessary for a clinician to work in direct partnership with a medical doctor.
Evidence-based Reconsolidation Therapy has been shown to:
- Reduce the emotional burden of trauma in 70% of cases within six weeks
- Achieve therapeutic outcomes without daily psychotropic medication
- Produce little to no side effects
- Deliver lasting results beyond approaches based on extinction learning
- Be recognised internationally as a breakthrough treatment for PTSD
