BETTER RESEARCH
STARTS HERE

Better research is led by passionate, world-class researchers.

Researchers working with koalas

World-class researchers

Our researchers have developed the world’s first approved vaccine to combat chlamydia in koalas – one of the biggest threats to their survival.

Our researchers are at the forefront of developing novel treatments for PTSD.

We are leaders acting on climate change.

Whatever your interest is, we can connect you with the best researchers to support your journey.

Supportive research environment

Better support

We are there at every stage of your journey, supporting you in an environment conducive to research excellence.

Our research supervisors make themselves accessible to their students.

Our facilities are some of the most advanced in Australia. Depending on your research, you will have access to cutting-edge visualisation and AI technology, state-of-the-art science labs and UniSC is home to the National PTSD Research Centre.

If your research leads you to the depths of the ocean, we have a research station on K’gari and our researchers even head abroad to the Pacific Islands.

What will it cost?

We have scholarships available to cover tuition fees and help with living expenses for domestic students, making a PhD more affordable.

Let us explain. You’ll be committing to your research full-time, so you’ll need financial help along the way. We have two main scholarships you should consider. They often cover all your tuition fees and can help with living expenses, such as food and accommodation.

Research Training Program (RTP) scholarships can support you on your research journey. You may be eligible for:

  • An RTP Tuition Fee Offset Scholarship can cover tuition fees.
  • An RTP Stipend Scholarship will help with living expenses and can be up to $38,000.

Industry partnerships

We all benefit from the impact of collaboration.

We’ve developed mutually beneficial research partnerships with industry leaders in sustainability, health, advanced manufacturing, food and agribusiness, ICT, tourism, sport, and major events.

Our partnerships are always expanding too, leading to greater opportunities for you to connect your research project with a relevant industry partner.

This is important because there is an increasing demand in both private and public sectors for profound expertise, innovative capabilities, and advanced research and analytical skills.
