Counselling support

Our counsellors from Student Wellbeing's Counselling and Psychological Services are here to listen, support, and help you navigate any difficulties you may be facing.

When you book an appointment, your counsellor will take the time to understand your concerns, explore how they’re affecting you, and work with you to find practical ways to cope and move forward. We provide a safe and supportive space where you can talk openly about whatever is on your mind.

If needed, your counsellor may suggest a referral to another service that better suits your needs. They will guide you through this process to ensure you receive the right support.

Taking the first step

Reaching out for support can feel overwhelming, but it’s an important and positive step. If you’re ready to speak with a counsellor, you can book a short 15 minute call back appointment online. During this call, we’ll discuss your needs and explore the best support options available. We also offer flexible appointment times to fit around your schedule.

Current students can learn more about these services and book a 15 min call back appointment via the Student Portal

How counselling can help

Counselling can support you through a variety of personal and study-related challenges, including:

  • Feeling anxious, stressed, or low
  • Exam and study pressure
  • Relationship or family issues
  • Grief and loss
  • Gender identity and sexuality concerns
  • Life changes or difficult events
  • Feeling overwhelmed or struggling to cope

Whatever is on your mind, we’re here to help you develop strategies to manage challenges and improve your wellbeing.

Your privacy matters

Your privacy is important to us. Counselling sessions are confidential, and we keep your records secure. However, in rare situations where safety is a concern—either for you or others—or where required by law, we may need to share information. If this happens, we will discuss it with you first.

You can trust that your conversations with our counsellors remain safe, private, and respectful.
