Melissa Hawkes Law Bursary

Scholarship applications for Study Period 1, 2027 are now open and will close on 30 November 2026.

All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by close of business, 26 February 2027.

The Melissa Hawkes Law Bursary is supporting continuing students with financial need and enrolled in a law program.

The Melissa Hawkes Law Bursary was established in 2026 by Andrew Hawkes in memory of his late wife Melissa Hawkes, as a lasting tribute. This bursary will be first awarded in 2027 and will make a meaningful difference by supporting students studying law, an area Melissa had a particular interest in. This enduring legacy will honour Melissa’s memory while helping future generations of law students pursue their academic aspirations and realise their potential.

The student recipient will receive the bursary funds as one lump sum payment of $2,500 following enrolment checks after Census date in Trimester 1 of the relevant year.

Please note: This bursary is offered on a yearly basis through funds provided by an external donor. If funding is not available in any given year, the bursary will not be awarded.
