*The Modified Monash Model (MMM) defines whether a location is metropolitan, rural, remote or very remote. Read about the MMM and how to search for an area's MMM classification.

How it works

  1. Make UniSC your first preference: make a UniSC program your first preference with QTAC by 12noon on Monday 21 December 2026.

  2. Start your degree: accept your offer and enrol for Trimester 1, 2027.

  3. We assess you automatically: there is no separate application. UniSC will confirm you have met the initial criteria shortly after you are sent your offer and you’ll receive your first scholarship payment after Census 1 (Friday 2 April 2027).

There are no additional application forms

Frequently asked questions

Why do some degrees have location restrictions?

Some UniSC degrees have only a limited number of places available. While we want to support all Queensland students considering study at UniSC, our primary mission is to create educational opportunities for the people of our regions.

I’m applying for a degree with location restrictions, but live outside of the eligible area, can I still get a scholarship?

You will not be eligible for the UniSC High Achieving Student Program, however you may be eligible for other UniSC Scholarships, such as the Vice Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarship.

Does this scholarship ‘stack’ with other UniSC scholarships?

Yes, recipients of this scholarship can receive other concurrent scholarships. However, the rules of other scholarships may prevent the recipient from holding multiple scholarships.

I have already received an offer via the Early Offer Guarantee. Will I receive a scholarship if I achieve the minimum ATAR

Yes, provided your QTAC preference list includes your UniSC degree as your first QTAC preference before 12 noon on Monday, 21 December and you meet all other eligibility criteria.

What is an unadjusted ATAR?

An unadjusted ATAR (often called a raw ATAR) is your official, baseline Australian Tertiary Admission Rank based purely on your high school academic results. It doesn't include any adjustment factors you may be eligible for.
