After more than a decade as a FIFO worker in the coal and gas industries, Luke Costello realised he could – and would – completely change his life’s direction. Now in his second year into a Bachelor of Psychology with honours at UniSC Moreton Bay, Luke’s determined to try and understand what makes people tick.
While undertaking a Bachelor of Social Work/Bachelor of Criminology at UniSC, Kayley had the opportunity to complete a placement at Headspace. Now, she works as a senior case manager at Queensland Corrective Services, helping her clients on a daily basis.
While undertaking her Master of Counselling degree at UniSC, Natacha did a placement with Community Corrections. She works there now as a senior case manager and couldn't imagine doing anything else.
We spent the day with Bachelor of Social Science graduate Bradley Lines (Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology)), as he takes us through the emotional journey of his graduation.

I became fascinated by psychological research during my recovery from my own lived experience of mental illness. I've been really interested in many of the different areas of psychology that I’ve been studying and I have a strong passion for research, but I’m keeping an open mind about where my study takes me.

Friends often approached Katrina for personal advice about issues they were grappling with. But without qualifications, Katrina was unsure if she was helping or inadvertently hurting so she enrolled to study counselling at UniSC.
Katrina now runs her own counselling clinic in Cooroibah on the Sunshine Coast.
