*Not offered until 2028* This course equips student paramedics with contemporary knowledge and practical skills to assess and manage mental health across diverse populations and settings. Emphasising culturally safety, person-centred care, students will explore mental health, well-being, and illness through case-based learning. The course integrates communication strategies, clinical decision-making, and evidence-informed interventions. Students learn to respond to acute and chronic presentations, including substance use and crisis situations, while developing emotional resilience and collaborative practice with consumers, carers, and health teams.
