You’ll explore the intersection of mental illness, criminal justice, and societal expectations, developing expertise in assessment, risk management, and therapeutic engagement with individuals whose behaviours may be complex or high-risk. Drawing on historical, legal, cultural, and clinical frameworks, the course prepares you to navigate systems of care, advocate for vulnerable populations, and manage ethical dilemmas in diverse settings such as forensic hospitals, prisons, and community-based services.
