Primary goals
- Improve understanding of implementing large-scale rehabilitation of deforested and degraded forest landscapes, and improving the socioeconomic status of upland communities through the provision of sustainable livelihoods and voluntary trading of carbon credits generated through Nature-based Solutions.
Key deliverables
- Restore deforested and degraded landscapes in the Philippines
- Through this reforestation, learn more about implementing reforestation projects in tropical countries
- Fund the reforestation activities and provide sustainable livelihoods for local communities through carbon credits
- Provide a living laboratory, a unique opportunity for research on key knowledge gaps on how to implement reforestation at scale with communities for socioeconomic and environmental benefits
