Primary goals
- Pine thinning residues left in situ increase fire risk. The project will examine the cost/benefit of treating thinning residues in terms of fire risk mitigation and nutrient retention.
- This project is funded as part of FWPAs Impact Of Fire Investment Plan, which targets research, development and extension priorities to minimise the impacts of fire on Australia’s commercial forest estate, 2020.
Progress
This project commenced in May 2024 and is set to be completed in May 2027.
