I am from North Dakota in the United States. What inspired me to study at UniSC was the chance to step outside my comfort zone and learn in a completely new environment.
I chose Australia because I wanted a global perspective, and UniSC stood out for its practical approach, welcoming community, and beautiful location. It felt like the perfect place to grow both personally and academically.
Studying at UniSC was a highlight of my university journey. I loved the supportive learning environment and how approachable the lecturers were. They made it easy to ask questions and apply what we learned to real-world situations.
My experience at UniSC shaped how I see communication and its impact. It confirmed my passion for pursuing a global career and gave me the tools to take that next step.
The campus is beautiful and peaceful, which made it a great place to focus and connect with others. I met students from all over the world, which helped me grow both personally and professionally.
One of the coolest parts was seeing the kangaroos on campus. It never got old and reminded me how unique this experience was. I also loved watching sunsets at Mooloolaba, shopping in Maroochydore, and exploring the beautiful wilderness of the coast.
My advice...
Life on the Sunshine Coast is incredible. Coming from a landlocked area in America with nothing but cornfields, the scenery here was a welcome change.
I wish I knew how quickly time would fly. It’s important to be present, ask for help when you need it, and connect with people early on.
Everyone is very friendly and willing to support you, you just have to reach out.
Make the most of your time by staying open-minded, managing your time well, and remembering that learning happens both inside and outside the classroom.
