Tegan Pinese is a Lecturer in Occupational Therapy – Clinical Education. Since graduating from The University of Queensland in 2010, Tegan has worked within the field of paediatrics, both within community and private practice sectors. Her extensive clinical experience has involved working alongside children and families to support their occupational engagement and participation, as well as within multidisciplinary teams and education settings.
Research and evidence-based practice has always been important to Tegan, and she strives to build research and ongoing learning into her clinical work. Supporting occupational therapy students and clinicians to further develop their knowledge, skills and professional identity is a passion of Tegan’s, which she has been able to fulfil through clinical supervision roles.
Tegan also completed her PhD through the University of Queensland in 2023, focused on the experience of young people with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and their families during the transition to adulthood. She continues to value the role of research in informing clinical practice and the ability to translate research findings into practical applications for everyday clinical practice.
