Allison is an Associate Lecturer in Education within the School of Education and Tertiary Access at the University of the Sunshine Coast. She brings more than 25 years of experience across school leadership and higher education, with a particular focus on Initial Teacher Education, curriculum design and preservice teacher development. Her academic qualifications include a Master of Education from the University of the Sunshine Coast and a Bachelor of Education secondary from the Queensland University of Technology.

Allison's research interests centre on preservice teacher development, professional experience and the conditions that support effective teacher preparation. She is an active contributor to a cross-institutional research project with Southern Cross University and La Trobe University exploring the voices of mentor teachers in Initial Teacher Education and participates in University of the Sunshine Coast’s Education and Learning Futures Research Cluster under the theme of Teacher Professionalism and Practice. Her work is informed by the priorities of the National Teacher Workforce Action Plan, and she is a member of the Australian Teacher Education Association and the Australian Association for Research in Education.

In her teaching practice, Allison has coordinated and delivered undergraduate and postgraduate courses including those focused on catering for diverse learner needs, professional experience and educational psychology. She maintains active connections with schools and the broader education sector through her roles as a Professional Learning Liaison and Quality Teaching Performance Assessment panel member, as well as through ongoing teaching in specialist education settings. Allison is committed to evidence-informed practice, continuous improvement and fostering collaborative partnerships between universities and schools to support the next generation of teachers.
