Dr Kirsty Shearer is a Senior Lecturer in Paramedicine within the School of Health at UniSC, and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She holds a PhD from Central Queensland University (CQU) Australia, where her research focused on ethical dilemmas and ethics in paramedic education and practice.
As a registered paramedic with over two decades of clinical experience, Kirsty has worked across diverse jurisdictional settings and roles, including Intensive and Extended Care, clinical leadership, and education. Her academic career spans both undergraduate and postgraduate paramedic science programs, where she has contributed as a course leader and educator.
Kirsty’s research and teaching interests span paramedicine and its intersecting disciplines, including clinical care, ethics, primary and extended health care, curriculum development, accreditation, and health education. She is committed to advancing ethical practice and education in paramedicine through both scholarship and mentorship.
