Paul brings an outstanding record of senior leadership across government, higher education, international trade, and industry engagement, with expertise in investment attraction, economic development, major commercial negotiations, and strategic partnerships. His career spans senior executive roles across Australia and internationally, and he is widely recognised for delivering high-impact outcomes that drive growth, employment, and regional prosperity.
Paul served as Chief Economic Development Officer for the City of Moreton Bay where he has led major economic strategies and secured more than $600 million in investment, creating thousands of jobs and delivering nationally recognised innovation and data-driven programs. Prior to this, Paul led economic development for the Sunshine Coast Council, where he played a pivotal role in securing transformative infrastructure and investment initiatives for the region.
Earlier in his career, Paul served as a senior trade and investment diplomat with Austrade, leading international offices and coordinating missions for Prime Ministers, and Ministers and briefing global industry leaders.
As Director, Strategic Partnerships, Paul leads UniSC’s strategic engagement with government, industry, and innovation partners, advancing research collaboration, commercialisation, and enterprise initiatives. He oversees UniSC Innovation and Industry Engagement, ensuring that partnerships deliver measurable impact for students, researchers, and the broader community. Paul’s leadership is central to enhancing UniSC’s reputation, influence, and contribution to regional, national, and international development.
