Dr Krist Feka is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at UniSC, a member of the VasoActive Research Group, and a member of the Emerging Leaders Committee of the Queensland Cardiovascular Research Network (QCVRN).
Dr Feka is a clinical exercise physiologist whose research focuses on the role of exercise therapy in the prevention and management of cardiovascular disease. His work also aims to better understand barriers to the implementation of exercise therapy and identify solutions to improve equitable access to exercise therapy for people living with cardiovascular disease.
Dr Feka completed his PhD within the VasoActive Research Group at UniSC where his research demonstrated that rehabilitation following lower limb vascular surgery can lead to better outcomes, and this model of care can be successfully integrated into existing cardiac rehabilitation services.
His research has been recognised through several competitive awards, including a QCVRN PhD Top-Up Scholarship, the UniSC Research Excellence Award, the Runner-Up Award for Best PhD Presentation at the QCVRN Research Showcase, and the UniSC Healthy Ageing Research Cluster Award in recognition of an outstanding publication.
